Solo Exhibit at Creative Framing and Gallery: I will have a solo exhibit of my cat paintings throughout the month of April 2012 at Creative Framing and Gallery, 5015 Woodminster Lane, Oakland, CA. The artist’s reception on Saturday, April 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. will be a lot of fun, and I hope to see you there! This exhibit will feature my newest paintings, several of which have never been on exhibit before.
Animal Lovers' Holiday Boutique November 5, 2011 is the date for this year's annual Animal Lovers’ Holiday Boutique from 10:00 to 4:00 at Feline Medical Center, 3160 Santa Rita Road, Pleasanton, CA. This event benefits Jackie Barnett’s Just Like New Fund, which provides financial assistance with vet bills for animals at the Valley Humane Society and for pets in the community. This is a very special event; Jackie was a good friend of mine and I’m proud to be a small part of helping keep her legacy alive. My saleskitty Tallulah Jane and I will be there to sell prints from my art with 50% of the proceeds donated to the fund. In addition to my art, there will be a lot of animal-related gift items for sale and as part of the raffle. New for this year: one-of-a-kind cat-shaped ceramic pots created by my very talented friend Nicky Royce and painted by me!
Best Friends Animal Society July 22, 2011 starts my two-month solo exhibit at the Best Friends Animal Society’s sanctuary in Kanab, Utah! I first visited the sanctuary in August 2009; what I saw and experienced during that visit inspired me to begin a series of paintings illustrating the work of Best Friends. The series includes 18 paintings, each based on a different aspect of animal rescue. To support the mission of Best Friends, 50% of the proceeds from all sales of my artwork during the two-month exhibit—whether original paintings or prints, whether sold in person or through this website—will be donated to Best Friends. Even after the exhibit ends, Best Friends will receive $5 from the sale of each print from the series of paintings they inspired. To see the paintings in this series, click on the gallery entitled “Sanctuary Series.”
Best Friends Animal Society is a nonprofit organization creating no-kill programs and partnerships across the nation in order to bring about a time when every animal has a loving home and there are No More Homeless Pets. All of the animal outreach work of Best Friends begins at the heart of the organization, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the country’s largest no-kill haven for abandoned, abused or unwanted pets, nestled among the canyons of Kanab, Utah. The work of Best Friends is made possible by members across the nation and around the world. Please join by visiting www.bestfriends.org.
Update: The exhibit at Best Friends Animal Society’s sanctuary ended September 16, 2011 and resulted in a donation of $2,225! Thanks to all of you who purchased art during this special promotion.
